The highly controversial Antiterrorism Bill is subject to amendments and changes in Parliament and as such no one should have any fear or feeling of threat from the proposed Bill, Justice Minister Dr. Wijeyadasa Rajapakshe said. Rising Hindutva fascism against minorities under Modi
Bound to  divide communities and destabilise India

By Latheef Farook

Ever since  Narendra Modi waselectedPrime Minister two years ago theRSS,Rastriya Swayam Sevak, began implementing its fascist Hindutva agenda against Muslims, so called low caste Hindus called Dalits and Christians.

Under the guise of protecting cows, RSS thugs calling  themselves” Cow Vigilante”have unleashed medieval style barbarityonMuslims ,cruelty towards  Dalits and death for  Hindus converting to other religions.

Theseracist thugs haveModi governmentpatronage and police protection.

In the latest of these attacks on Muslims, RSS gangs beaten up, kicked and punched   two Muslim women last week on suspicion of carrying beef. This happened while the two women were  in detention at Mandsaur railway station in central Indiain the presence of large crowd  as policemen watched. The meat the women were carrying has since turned out to be buffalo.

In June 2016 a Muslim animal trader and his helpers were nearly lynched  when they were strippednaked, mercilessly beaten and their bones smashed and crushed in the presence of police.  Earlier  four other Muslimswere killed on suspicion of eating beef or smuggling cows across the country.

A video showedtwo battered Muslim men being forced to eat cow dung. The Indian Express reported: “The video shows the so called  Cow Protection Group forcing two men to eat a mixture of cow dung, cow urine, milk, curd and ghee near Delhi. Dharmendra Yadav, president of the Gurgaon Gau Rakshak Dal admitted that they had forced the two men – Rizwan and Mukhtiar – to eat cow dung concoction on 10 June 2016.

Another video showed two young poverty stricken Muslim boys were severely thrashed to say “Sri Ram is My God”.There was also anothervideo showing four half-naked men tied to a car as the activists took turns to thrash them with belts and batons at a crowded marketplace. At least three Muslims suspected of eating or transporting beef were killed.

They also unleashed violence against Dalits- regarded as low caste Hindus.Hundreds of protesters took to streets in theIndian state of Gujarat in July 2016 after an attack on low-caste villagerswho were taking a dead cow to be skinned. In violent clashes a police officer was killed and several others were injured.

Two Dalit women in their twenties were stripped naked and severely beaten by so called high caste men, women and children while some shouting” kill them, kill them”.

Shankar, a Dalit, who married Kausalya, a high-caste Hindu, was hacked to death by hired killers in Tirupur, Tamil Nadu, on Sunday March 13, 2016.

On 28 April this year a 29-year-old Dalit law student, Jisha was brutally raped, attacked andslaughteredin Kerala. The barbarity was such that the Post mortem reports showed deep wounds on her body; her private parts were pierced by a rod, the large intestine ripped out and face shattered by a hammer blow. She was also beaten with an iron rod from the back of her head, and that her nose was broken. .

The dastardly crimereminded of the December 2012 attack on a paramedical student in Delhi, which shook the nation.

One of the worst attacks on Christians was the rape of a 70 year old Nun in West Bengal in  a convent school that sent shockwaves throughout India and the world. In response, Cardinal Baselios Cleemis, president of the Catholic bishops conference, said the country should work to "protect not just cows, but human beings also."

In the midst of this mayhem Shiv Sena, another RSS deceptive front, called to declare India a Hindu State. This was followed by a BJP member of parliament whocalled for the death sentence for anyone who converts a Hindu to another religion.  He said a law will be passed in Parliament in which anyone indulging in cow slaughter and conversion will be punished with the death sentence."

However evenbefore the law is prepared  it appears that RSSthugs started murdering Hindus converting to other religions.

For examplea24-year-old IT professional,Swathi   was brutally murdered in broad daylight on June 24, 2016at Nungambakkam Railway station   in Tamilnad .

According to Indian Express, Swathi died of horrific injuries after the murderer used a sickle to attack causing multiple blows to her face and neck before she collapsed onto the railway platform, in a pool of blood.

Though a person called Ram Kumar was accused of the murder reports  emerged later  stating that Swathiwas massacred by suspected RSS cadres  as she lovedand married   a Muslim, Bilal Malik in Bangalore, embraced Islam and observed fasting during the Holy Month of Ramadhan. This massacre was reported to have been committed with the cooperation of police which later found to have cut the throat of Ram Kumar who was earlier accused of killing Swathi.

India’s Constitution has the provisions for safeguarding the rights of minorities, but Prime Minister Modi and his government and BJP had shown utter disregard to it and has been committing atrocities on minorities with impunity.  The Indian state has failed appallingly in its obligations to Muslim citizens.

Modi is no  man of peace. His hatred towards Islam and Muslims remain inherent and well known.  His role in the massacre ofMuslims in Gujarat in February 2002 made many countries, including United States and Europe, to refuse him entry visa though  they, including gullible Gulf tribal sheikhs, now roll red carpet to receive him.

Under the circumstance India doesn’t need enemies to destabilise that great ancient country where civilisations flourished.RSS with its fascist ideology and its deceptive fronts such as BJP,Shiv Sena, VHP, Bajrang Dal and the like are doing that job.

Summing up the unfolding mayhem in India, Dubai based columnist.¬ Aijaz Zaka Syed had this to state;

Since the change of guard in India two years ago, stray animals loitering on the streets are more secure and protected than humans.

No wonder the guardians of the holy cow get bolder  by the day. And why wouldn’t they? They are made  to believe that they enjoy political patronage at the highest level in the land and can get away with murder. And they do.

There is a desperate need for Dalits, Muslims and all right thinking people who believe in the idea of an inclusive India to join forces against the growing threat of fascism.

The Muslims in particular must get out of their comfort zone to reach out to Dalits and other marginalised groups and communities. They cannot tackle the coming threat on their own. The very future of India as a secular and pluralist democracy is at stake. We need to stand together to fight the darkness that is fast closing in. We are in this together.
